A timeless record which stands the test of time with seminal songs such as ‘Imagine’, ‘Jealous Guy’, ‘Give Me Some Truth’ and ‘How Do You Sleep?’ amongst many more, the album also includes notable contributions from fellow ex-Beatle George Harrison.

This new edition takes us on incredibly personal journey through the entire songwriting and recording process – from the very first writing and demo sessions at John’s home studio at Tittenhurst Park through to the final co-production with Phil Spector – providing a remarkable testament of the lives of John Lennon and Yoko Ono in their own words

• The new expanded ‘Imagine’ will be released on 5th October 2018 to mark the original album release on 8th October 1971
• Featuring a brand new stereo mix of the original album, faithfully remixed from the ground up by triple Grammy Award winning engineer Paul Hicks at Abbey Road Studios, under the supervision of Yoko Ono Lennon, using high-definition 24-bit/96kHz audio transfers of the original first-generation multitrack recordings, these Ultimate Mixes reveal whole new levels of sonic depth, definition and clarity, especially in 5.1 surround sound.
• The expanded edition also features unique previously unheard material:
i. Raw Studio recordings – an amazing immersive experience of the recording sessions as if you were in the room with the band themselves, enabling you to hear every single detail of each instrument and performance. Experience, in immersive surround sound, the moment John and The Plastic Ono Band record each song, raw and live, from a sonic soundstage at the centre of Ascot Sound Studios at John & Yoko’s home in Tittenhurst.
ii. “Evolution” – a remarkable track-by-track documentary journey. The story of each song on a journey from demo to master via instructions, rehearsals, recordings, multitrack exploration and studio chat.
iii. “Elements” mixes – stripped-back mixes of selected tracks using a few simple elements from the multitrack recordings, that reveal even deeper levels of detail and clarity in the sources used for the master mixes, now opened up and presented on a wider, clearer and brighter sound stage.
iv. Outtakes – stereo outtakes from the album and singles sessions, faithfully mixed in a style similar to the originals.
v. Quadrosonic Album Mix – remastered for the first time in nearly fifty years, the original four speaker Spector/Lennon/Ono mix of the ‘Imagine’ album in Quadrosonic sound.
vi. Elliot Mintz interviews / documentary – a tribute by DJ and family friend Elliot Mintz featuring revealing, philosophical, honest and humorous interviews with John & Yoko.

• ‘Imagine’ the title track was famously written as a plea for world peace, inspired by Yoko Ono’s 1964 book of poems ‘Grapefruit’
• ‘Imagine’ has remained a legendary song through to today and has earned numerous accolades including BMI naming it as one of the 100 most-performed songs of the 20th century, a Grammy Hall of Fame Award, an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll, with Guinness World Records British Hit Singles book naming it the second best single of all time, while Rolling Stone ranked it number three in their list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time".
• The song has been covered by everyone from Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Ray Charles, Madonna, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Jack Johnson, Herbie Hancock & Pink through to A Perfect Circle, with Emeli Sandé also recording a version for the 2012 Olympics in London
